The white stuff just keeps falling.

Okanagan residents woke up to a winter wonderland Tuesday morning, which wasn’t exactly expected.

Environment Canada meteorologist Bobby Sekhon says reports are still coming in, but 10 to 15 centimetres fell in some areas since Monday evening. 

“Looks like it is still coming down pretty good,” said Sekhon.

Snow started falling about 8 p.m. Monday and won’t stop until this evening. 

“We are now getting another band coming through,” said Sekhon. 

Kelowna and West Kelowna received two to 10 cm overnight and another four to five are expected today.

“We’ll see this continue on for a little while,” he said. 

Vernon received about three cm overnight, and an additional three cm have fallen this morning in Vernon and Penticton. 

Big White Ski Resort received a dumping of over 18 cm during the past 12 hours, according to its daily snow report. Silver Star received four cm overnight, and Apex 12 cm. 

Sekhon says there is just a chance of flurries overnight and clearing tomorrow. 

“In a 24-hour total, we were expecting up to 10 centimetres, but locally it looks like there could be some higher amounts, but more or less it is on track,” he said. 

The South Coast has been hit hard with heavy snow, but "the Okanagan has not been getting as much snow as our neighbours on either side,” he said. 

Highway passes can also expect more snow today. 

According to Sekhon, the Coquihalla Highway is expected to get five to 10 cm today, Allison Pass will also get five to 10 cm, and the Okanagan Connector four to five cm.
