The Derbyshires are set up and ready to accept calls as the desperate search for their missing son continues.
Aaron Derbyshire, 22, vanished from a Kelowna nightclub September 30.
Police have received about 200 tips but none of them have panned out, so the Derbyshires are resorting to what could very well be the largest private reward ever offered in Kelowna.
The Derbyshires are offering $100,000 for the return of their son. The money has come from family and friends.
"We are not a wealthy family but with the help of family members, friends, co-workers and local business people, a reward of $100,000 is being offered for information leading to Aaron's discovery," says Gordon Derbyshire, Aaron's father.
It's not an open offer. The Derbyshires say the offer expires on Christmas Day.
"We want him home before Christmas. It would be the ultimate present."
Seeing that this is private money, RCMP cannot handle any calls dealing with the reward. So the Derbyshires have set up their own two private lines to handle any queries. They are: (250) 878-9350 -- ask for Mike or (250) 878-9450 -- ask for Doug.
