Flames consume shed

Fire consumed a shed in Kelowna on Saturday afternoon, according to Castanet readers.

Concerned residents quickly called fire crews after noticing smoke billowing out of a shed near The Palisade Rental Apartments on Walnut Street in Kelowna.

One resident says the shed is home to many gardening tools and seedlings.

"Thankfully this didn't happen in the middle of the night because it could have been a lot worse," said a resident in the area.

One woman says there was some suspicious activity in the area, but she isn't sure how the fire could have started.

RCMP were on scene speaking with residents.

As of now, it's unknown to the public how the fire sparked.

Castanet has reached out to Kelowna RCMP and is waiting for a response.
