Failed robbery attempt

Police are asking witnesses to come forward after a suspect tried to commit a daytime robbery in Kelowna.

A man approached a woman near Manhattan Drive and Sunset Drive just after 11 a.m. and pushed her to the ground from behind.

Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey said the man was not known to the woman and he tugged at her purse.

The suspect is believed to be in his 40’s with a medium build and was wearing all black clothing.

Investigators are now turning to the public to find the man.

According to police, the woman sustained minor injuries in the incident.
