Seasonal highs all week

Beautiful fall weather will stick around in the Okanagan Valley for a few days.

Environment Canada meteorologist Chris Emond says the temperatures aren’t breaking any records, but they are seasonal highs.

“It is not record setting, but it is above normal,” he said. “Our normal for this time of year would be a 12 C for a high.”

Temperatures will be around 15 C or 16 C for the next few days.

“It is a strong ridge of high pressure and I think perhaps the more unusual thing is how persistent it looks like it is going to be,” said Emond.

The extended period of warm weather will last until early next week.

“The fly in the ointment is the longer that the ridge will persist the more likely that valley clouds will start to occur in the overnight and morning hours,” he said.

By Wednesday valley clouds will develop and are expected to burn off by the evening.

Emond says this warm weather will be felt all the way up to the Yukon.
