Push to end homelessness

A team representing Kelowna Toyota is challenging other businesses in the city to join them in in the fight against homelessness.

Kelowna Toyota will compete in the annual Push to End Homelessness, a fundraiser for Inn from the Cold.

"The issue of homelessness is a community problem, and requires a community solution," said dealership manager Jamie Kaban.

"I believe we have to all work together to deal with this issue.

Competing teams are required to raise $1,000 each. However, the Kelowna Toyota team, plans to raise much more.

They say they just want to make sure "everybody has a warm place to sleep this winter."

Inn from the Cold is in a desperate search to find a location to house its 45 clients.

It will permanently close the doors on its Sutherland Avenue shelter Sept. 30 to make way for a new development on the property.

Push to End Homelessness is scheduled for Sept. 29.
