Plant thief on the prowl

Madison Erhardt

Just how far will someone go to make a quick buck?

That's what one resident in Black Mountain is asking herself after a $20 plant was stolen from her front steps last Friday.

"It was 5 a.m., two trucks went up the street and then they turned around and came back and stopped on the side of the road," the resident said.

"Then the person came up and took the plant and then casually just walked away."

There were reports that same night of another break-in just down the road.

"I think that same night there was also a chain cut and about $20,000 worth of stuff stolen, so I don't know if they are related or not. "

The RCMP have been notified of the theft and are investigating.

If you recognize the man in the video or have any information regarding the theft you are asked to contact the RCMP at 250-762-3300.
