Gunmen caught on cam

Alanna Kelly

Security camera footage from Castanet's building captured two men involved in a brazen daytime robbery.

The masked men can be seen strolling down Lawrence Avenue with concealed objects in their arms.

Bystanders can be seen walking right beside the suspects, who just moments before fired a gun inside the Garden of Eden.

In an exclusive interview with Castanet, an employee says the men pointed a gun at her on Monday.

She said they punched the owner in the face and demanded money.

"They just made me sit on the floor, do not move," the employee said. "They say don't move or they're gonna basically shoot me."

The men were wearing masks covering their faces, one a red bandana, the other a black bandana. Both had glasses covering their eyes.

"They put the guns to the head of my owner,” she said.

"They make him open the safe. They took all his watches, jewelry, they took all the money from the safe."

After leaving, the suspects can be seen walking east on Lawrence, and once they passed Pandosy Street, they broke into a jog.

Police say they have not yet found the suspects and anyone with information is asked to contact them.

Const. Lesley Smith said police are reviewing surveillance from downtown businesses and ask any motorists who had dashcam footage to send it to RCMP.

“Police are also requesting any witnesses who have yet to come forward, to please contact the Kelowna RCMP,” said Smith.

Anyone with information should call 250-762-3300.
