Kids return wad of cash

It was a happy ending for a man who left his wallet full of cash at a Dairy Queen last week in Rutland. 

"I stopped by for my traditional milkshake at the Dairy Queen along Highway 33. After I was done, I put my garbage in the can and put my tray back and went home," said Gordie Frie.

"Later, I noticed my wallet missing. In a panic I phoned the D.Q where a nice young man had told me that my wallet had been found."

Frie said all of his rent money in cash was stashed in the wallet. 

"When I got it back all of my cash was still in it. I do not know what I would have done had I lost it. It would have been catastrophic," Frie added. 

A young D.Q employee reportedly found the wallet and held it by the counter until the man came back to pick it up. 

"It gives me hope for the future that there are honest individuals still out there and I met a group of them at the Rutland Dairy Queen," Frie said.
