Nitro Circus stuns

Madison Erhardt

Kelowna's Apple Bowl was packed full Friday night for high-flying motocross action.

Doors opened at 6 p.m. and within minutes the stadium was flooded with people for the Nitro Circus.

Kelowna-born Bruce Cook stunned the crowd with a backflip.

"This is a big one and I am stoked to bring Nitro here and show them what B.C. is all about," Cook said. "This crowd has been pretty good so far. You guys are going to need to be a little bit louder and then I'm going to turn this thing upside down."

Motocross stunt riders tackled the biggest ramps in the world towering 15 feet above the show floor.

Riders were launched more than 60 feet into the air.

"This is one of the coolest things I have ever seen. It's awesome we could host an event like this here in Kelowna," Josh Kight, a fan of the event, said.

Hundreds were on the edge of their seats all night.
