Ready for May Days

Madison Erhardt

The 59th annual edition of Rutland May Days has officially kicked off.

Festivities take place at Rutland Centennial Park today through Sunday.

"We have the midway, we have the beer gardens and wrestling shows from Kelowna’s own Big West Wrestling, and a family friendly comedy show," said organizer Wendy Swarbrick.

"There are also a ton of food trucks, a lemonade stand and an ice cream truck," she added.

The gate fee is $3. Proceeds go towards the Rutland Parks Society's renovation fund for Rutland Centennial Hall.

Wristbands can be purchased for the midway on site.

The amusements are open tonight till 10 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday noon to 5 p.m.
