May Days returns again

For the 59th year, the Rutland May Days celebration will take over Rutland Centennial Park from May 18 to 20.

The annual event will once again feature a midway, with many different rides, beer gardens and wrestling shows from Kelowna’s own Big West Wrestling.

The May Days parade begins at 11 a.m. on Saturday, beginning on Hartman Road. The parade will make its way down Rutland Road to Centennial Park.

Another classic May Days event, the MayPole Dance, will begin at 2 p.m.

Centennial Park will be packed with 10 food trucks, a lemonade stand and an ice cream truck.

Musicians, comedians, dancers and other performers will be entertaining throughout the weekend. Anyone looking to showcase their talents can reach out to organizers at [email protected].

The fun will eventually come to a close Sunday morning with the tradition of pancake breakfast at Rutland Centennial Hall at 9 a.m.
