Kelowna firefighters responded to a home on Cadder Avenue, Wednesday, but once they arrived, the fire was already extinguished.
The homeowner made a 911 call just before 3 p.m.
A Kelowna fire department platoon captain told Castanet it appears the fire started in a garbage bin in the kitchen of the home.
Fans were being brought inside to vent the home, and no smoke or flames were visible.
