UBC Okanagan will host a symposium on North Korea next Friday.

What are the Canadian implications of the heightened rhetoric between the United States and North Korea, especially with North Korea pushing its nuclear program?

A panel of experts, including Canada's former ambassadors to both Korea and China, will look to address that question at a symposium hosted by UBC Okanagan next Friday.

“This daylong symposium will bring together six experts to discuss the nature of the threat, the historical context, the competing geopolitical interests in the region and what role Canada should play,” Patty Wellborn, communications with UBC Okanagan, said in a release.

The three sessions held throughout the day will include historical context, geopolitical interests and responses, and what should we learn from this situation.

All of the sessions are free, and guests can attend all of them, or any of the three.
