Leaders to talk wine

UPDATE: 4:30 p.m.

Two of B.C.'s three main party leaders will hit the Central Okanagan Friday.

Newly elected Liberal leader Andrew Wilkinson will be in Kelowna Friday morning.

He'll be at Sandhill Winery to discuss what the party calls "the NDP's reckless trade war with Alberta and the impact it is having on B.C.'s wine industry.

Green Party leader Andrew Weaver will also be in the area to again campaign with Robert Stupka, the Green candidate in the Kelowna West byelection.

While in the valley, Weaver will hold a community forum on the B.C. wine industry from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at Volcanic Hills Winery.

“I am very concerned Ms. Notley has responded to concern about lack of scientific analysis on the effect of dilbit on our coastal waters by taking it out on small, family-based businesses in the wine industry," said Weaver in advance of Friday's forum.
