Condolences have begun pouring in for a Rutland teacher who has passed away suddenly.

Bonnie Gratz says "Sad day. My love to RSS students and staff dealing with the heartbreaking passing of teacher Tim Lingor. I didn't know him well, but know he was respected and will certainly be missed."

Bri Dyck says, "Mr. Lingor - thank you for giving me another example of an excellent educator. Tonight my mind is flooded with memories of the months we spent together. I am filled with sadness and also deep gratitude that I got to be your student, too. You will be remembered with love by so many kids and will be deeply missed."

Rutland Senior Secondary School has announced the sudden death of one of its staff members.

A letter sent home to parents by principal Hugh Alexander said the school is mourning the sudden death of Tim Lingor.

Lingor is listed in the staff directory as a teacher at the school.

“We are deeply saddened by this news. Our focus will be to support those members of our school and community who have been affected by this tragedy,” states the letter.

Alexander stated the school has developed a plan and will be making announcements to their students to assist them in helping with the response.

“We will do all we can to assist our staff and students who require attention and support,” states the letter.

The school has accessed the support of the district’s Post Critical Incident Response Team.
