UPDATE 10:47 a.m.
The Castanet reader who alerted us to a cougar sighting in East Kelowna indicates the cat may have crossed his yard around 6 a.m. this morning. He wants to remain anonymous but did indicate his property backs on to Gallagher's Canyon. He believes there is a track in the snow in his backyard and BC Conservation has been notified as well.

There has been a cougar sighting in Kelowna this morning.
A Castanet reader who lives in East Kelowna tells Castanet he received a text at work from a neighbour who may have a trail camera set up in the area.
"I got the text this morning, the sighting was earlier today. There are plenty of children in the area. I'll check with my neighbour to see if he has a picture or an exact time and area."
The Castanet reader says he will send us a picture and any more information as it becomes available.
