CrossFit community unites

The CrossFit community is brought together by people inspired to live healthy lifestyles, but is kept together by continued love and support.

Owners of CrossFit Okanagan, Meg McCabe and Guillaume Chiasson just welcomed their baby boy three months earlier than expected.

The baby and family are doing well, but the early delivery has forced them to spend several weeks in Vancouver until he is well enough to come home.

They were rushed to BC Children's Hospital by air ambulance on Monday from Kelowna.

The unexpected stay in Vancouver has forced McCabe and Chiasson to put work on hold resulting in increasing staffing costs in their absence, as well as additional travel and living expenses while they are away from home.

A GoFundMe page has been set up by one of the coaches to support the family with messages of encouragement and financial support.

Bodyshop Training Centre is hosting a partner WOD on Sunday in support of McCabe and Chiasson. The workout is taking place at Bodyshop at 10 a.m.

CrossFitters from any gym are welcome to pay a drop-in fee, with the money supporting the family. A donation box will be set up at Bodyshop until Monday, Jan. 29 at 7 p.m.
