Stash of stolen tires found

RCMP have located close to 30 stolen tires that were taken from a car dealership in Kelowna.

An overnight commercial break and enter took place on Jan. 12 where thousands of dollars worth of tires were stolen from a car dealership on Enterprise.

Police were notified of the break in at 8:30 a.m.

A stash of stolen tires was discovered in the garage of a Rutland home two days later.

“A general duty officer was in the process of conducting a search of a Hollydell Road residence, for a male suspect on an unrelated matter, when she stumbled upon numerous tire sets stashed in the home's garage,” said Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey.

Police returned the tires to the dealership where employees continue to assess whether or not any tires are outstanding.

No arrests have been made yet in connection to the alleged break and enter.
