A second season of the documentary series Quest Out West Wild Food is returning to the Okanagan.

The season launches Thursday, Okanagan Film Commissioner Jon Summerland says.

The TV show airs on Aboriginal Peoples Televisions Network (APTN) and is set in the "breathtaking beauty of the Okanagan’s outdoors and nature’s wild food gardens."

Host Tracey Kim Bonneau explores the history of Indigenous foodie cuisine and its origins.

The 13-part series features "delicious stories" from foodie elders, historians, organic wineries and growers as they break bread over simply prepared, healthy meals.

Locations include the Grist Mill, Pure Similkameen Valley Honey, Twisted Hills Craft Cider, Ashnola Pow-wow Campsite, Ecommunity, and Summerhill Pyramid Winery & Organic Bistro.

Guests include Duane Howard from the film Revenant, and local actor Mariel Belanger from the Twilight Saga: Eclipse.

“This series showcases important historical, educational and current components of the foodie culture in the Okanagan," says Summerland.
