Broken Ladder scores gold

BC Tree Fruits has won North American recognition for its Broken Ladder cider.

Its Apples & Hops cider won a gold medal at the North American Cidercraft Awards.

Announced Thursday, the awards saw judges, experts and restaurant buyers blind taste more than 300 ciders over the course of two days. Three Canadian provinces and 18 U.S. States were represented.

Broken Ladder ciders have no added sugars or additives and use all-local Okanagan fruit.

The Apples & Hops variety brings the beer and cider worlds together, with B.C.-grown hops adding a distinct dryness to the juicy flavours of the BC Tree Fruits' original six apple blends.

The product is available at liquor stores throughout B.C. and Alberta. You can also get growler fills at the BCTF tasting room at 880 Vaughan Ave. in Kelowna.

BC Tree Fruits represents more than 430 growers across the province and is headquartered in Kelowna.
