When I'm premier of BC...

Two BC Liberals leadership hopefuls made announcements in Kelowna, Friday, about what their party would look like under their leadership.

Mike de Jong and Todd Stone are in town in advance of Saturday's leadership debate.

Stone addressed the media at the Delta Grand Hotel, and laid out his plan, including lowering the PST by one per cent and working to eliminate the small business tax.

He also promised townhall meetings across the province if elected, not just during the campaign.

A few hours later, de Jong spoke at UBC Okanagan about his plan to increase the province's contribution to the Registered Education Savings Plan.

If he were premier, de Jong says he would add an additional annual $500 grant to the current $1,200 for eligible children up to 18, that students can use for post-secondary education.

De Jong says the expanded program would cost an estimated $102 million annually.

The leadership debate will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Coast Capri Hotel.
