A mild week ahead

Madison Erhardt

The Okanagan is in for another fairly mild week.

Environment Canada forecasts daytime temperatures above freezing all week long.

"The Okanagan saw above seasonal highs on both Sunday and Monday, but by late Monday night, temperatures will be back to the seasonal average for this time of year," says meteorologist Lisa West.

Tuesday, the valley could see scattered showers or a possible chance of flurries, with a high of 7 C.

"Drivers along the high-elevation roads like the Connector should expect to see about two centimetres of snow," West adds.

Wednesday and Thursday should reach 4 C with cloudy periods and a chance of rain.

Friday will cool off slightly, with a high of 1 C and 30 per cent chance of rain.

The weekend is looking nice for December.

Both Saturday and Sunday are calling for highs of 3 C. There's a 30 per cent chance of flurries on Saturday.

Environment Canada issued a special weather statement for strong westerly winds last Sunday. Castanet viewers sent in a few pictures of the damage.
