Driver fined after rollover

A 31-year-old Kelowna man has been prohibited from driving following a single-vehicle crash at Valley Road North and Sexsmith Road Late Tuesday afternoon.

Witnesses say the Toyota pickup rolled several times after it was seen swerving on Valley Road shortly before 6 p.m.

The truck apparently hit rocks and rolled over.

“RCMP investigators entered into an impaired driving investigation as a result of observations made by the driver at the crash scene,” says Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey.

“As a result, a demand was made and the male driver provided samples of his breath roadside, which resulted in a fail.”

The driver was treated in hospital and released.

He now faces fines resulting from the driving prohibition for allegedly operating a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the crash but have not spoken with investigators to compact the RCMP at 250-762-3300.
