Fall weather on the way

Fall weather is expected to arrive in Kelowna over the next few days.

Environment Canada is calling for temperatures below 20 C starting Saturday.

Along with cooler temperatures, BC Wildfire Service said Kelowna and Penticton should be getting strong winds on Thursday afternoon.

“We are expecting to see northerly winds of 20 to 30 km/h, but there could be local gusts up to 40 km/h,” said fire information officer Heather Rice.

Sunday is expected to be 15 C, while Monday will be the coldest at 13 C, along with rain.

Precipitation in the forecast will provide relief to some wildfires still burning strong across the province.
