An elderly woman was rushed to hospital after driving into a post and then colliding head first into a building in an alley.
According to a witness on scene, the woman reversed her vehicle into the post and sped right into the back of the Scotiabank building.
“She reversed into the post and had a bit of shock and gunned it forwards and did a semi circle into the wall,” said Jason Ackerman a local store owner.
RCMP and firefighters arrived on scene in the alley near Ellis Street and Bernard Avenue just before 2 p.m.
The Scotiabank branch manager heard the collision and called 911, and a local store owner helped the woman out of her vehicle.
“Sweet old lady, I feel sorry for her. It sucks when anyone gets in an accident,” said Ackerman.
The woman was taken to hospital but there is no word on her injuries.
