Lake Country revved up

Lake Country will be revved up this weekend for the annual Lake Country Customs and Classics car show.

Now in its eighth year, the two-day event kicks off with a car parade and cruise on Saturday, followed by the show and shine on Sunday.

Cars will start to assemble at Lake Country Alliance Church on Oceola Road at 3 p.m. Saturday, with the parade at 5. Afterwards, drivers will be treated to a spaghetti dinner and entertainment.

The car show takes place at Swalwell Park, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It's free for the public to attend.

Up to 400 cars are expected to take part and more than 4,000 people to go through the park on Sunday.

There will be food vendors and music in the pavilion.

Proceeds from the show benefit the Lake Country Food Bank.
