The founders of Hello Kitty have launched its first app in partnership with Kelowna-based gaming studio, Hyper Hipppo Games.
Sanrio Inc. and Hyper Hippo have launched 'hello sanrio: say hello!', now available on both Android and iOS after launching at Comic-Con International in San Diego on Thursday.
“Hyper Hippo is thrilled to be working closely with Sanrio on such a globally recognized brand. Say hello! is just the beginning of new and innovative ideas that will help connect friends and make more smiles around the world,” says Lance Priebe, CEO of Hyper Hippo.
The app is set to bring together Sanrio fans to share their love of Hello Kitty and all of her friends in a unique and safe environment.
Hyper Hippo partnered with Sanrio last fall to develop a suite of lifestyle apps themed to the new hello sanrio brand that celebrates Sanrio’s core foundation of social communication.
The digital initiative supporting hello sanrio explores the world of Sanrio through Hello Kitty and multiple characters from Sanrio’s design legacy including Keroppi, Chococat, Badtz-Maru, My Melody, Pompompurin, Gudetama and more.
Hello sanrio marks the first time that the company has premiered a new multi-character brand via digital content.

Available as of Thursday, say hello! is the first app to officially launch the hello sanrio suite of lifestyle apps.
The app offers fans an immersive social experience on mobile devices while bringing fans together, giving them a place to connect, discover, express themselves and experience the world of Sanrio in a new way.
