Newshound joins Castanet

Castanet is expanding again.

The Okanagan's most popular news outlet has added another member to its news team.

Experienced journalist David Wylie joins Castanet as News Editor.

“David has worked in the Okanagan for a lot of years, covering events that have shaped our valley,” said News Director and Content Manager Jon Manchester. “He has a nose for news and is a perfect fit for our news team.”

Wylie has reported and edited for some of Canada’s biggest daily papers, including the Vancouver Province and National Post. He’s also held key editor roles at Postmedia News Service and The Daily Courier in Kelowna. He was most recently in communications at FortisBC.

Along with the opening of a standalone Vernon office this past year, this new role continues Castanet’s growth as the Okanagan’s top source for breaking news.

"At a time when many of the headlines about media are depressing, Castanet has been expanding to lead the way as a go-to news source across B.C.," said Manchester.

Wylie said he's excited to join Castanet.

“There’s no rush like breaking news,” said Wylie. “Castanet is the place where people turn when they want to know what’s happening right now. It’s exciting for me to be a part of making sure our readers are informed fast.”
