Getting into the movie biz

The Okanagan Film Commission is looking for crew to work on several new movies set to begin shooting in the Okanagan.

Starting in March, shooting will begin throughout the Okanagan for four to six Hallmark Channel movies.

The movies will include ‘The Plateau,’ shot in Kelowna and ‘A Snow Capped Christmas,’ which will be shot at Manning Park.

Each movie has a million dollar budget.

“We need crew,” said Jon Summerland, Okanagan Film Commissioner, in a statement. “If you ever wanted to work in the movies in the Okanagan, email your resume to [email protected].”

For aspiring filmmakers, the Okanagan Film Fundamentals workshop is being held from March 3-6, and will include a number of courses and guest speakers to help people get started in the industry.
