Top 10 for local businesses

Three Kelowna businesses have made it to the top 10 in their respective categories of the 13th annual Small Business BC Awards.

After a number of weeks of voting by community members, the 535 small businesses nominated were whittled down to 100.

Taylor Pro Training Ltd. made it into the top 10 in best apprentice training category. It is a heavy equipment driver training company operating in northern Kelowna.

GreenStep made it to the top 10 in best community impact category. GreenStep works with small and medium sized companies to reduce their environmental impact.

Cryo Care made the list in the best emerging entrepreneur category. It is a company using cold therapy to help people with a number of ailments.

Companies that have made the top 10 list will now face a panel of judges that will review their applications and narrow down the list to the top five in each category.

Winner will be presented with awards at a Vancouver ceremony on Feb. 25.
