Walks away from rollover

Shattered glass, textbooks and car fluid littered the road around a flipped SUV at Ethel Street and Sutherland Avenue Tuesday.

The accident happened about 11:30 a.m. when a silver Ford Escape travelling west on Sutherland reportedly ran a red light.

A man with three young kids in a Toyota Sequoia entered the intersection travelling north on Ethel, and clipped the side of the Ford. The Ford spun and then rolled over onto its roof.

Incredibly, no one was injured in the collision.

“She was fine. I ran out, after yelling at my kids, seeing if they were OK, and yelled into her car to see if she was fine, and she yelled back,” said the Toyota driver. “I’m a little shaken up. I’m glad, after seeing her spin and flip, it was like, ‘Oh god…’”

A paramedic on the scene said the woman in the Ford walked away from the accident and didn’t go to the hospital.

The three children in the Toyota were taken to the clinic by their mother as a precaution.
