Stolen van used in heist

Thieves used a stolen van to rob a Kelowna business this week.

They broke into a fenced compound and stole a work van on Wednesday, later using the stolen vehicle to steal goods from another business.

An employee of a mechanical service on Evans Court discovered the van missing Wednesday morning. The gate to the company compound had been broken into and a white 2007 Ford Econoline Van with B.C. licence plate 7454BR was gone.

About 4:45 a.m., the van was used in a break and enter at Mara Lumber on Highway 33. While driving away, it struck the side of a brown Toyota van, nearly forcing it off the road. The 67-year-old female driver was shaken but not hurt.

Surveillance video is being used to determine what was stolen.
