Bells were ringing across Canada this morning in celebration of the United Church of Canada’s 90th anniversary.
Kelowna’s First United Church joined in on the celebrations, which involved ringing church bells 90 times, at 10:30 a.m. sharp.
That specific time was chosen because the first service of the United Church of Canada was held at 10:30 a.m. on June 10, 1925.
Churches in communities from Bonavista, Newfoundland to Chilliwack, B.C. took part in the bell ringing celebration, according to a release from the United Church of Canada.
