Meet the water bombers

You can meet the pilots who keep the forest fires at bay, next week in Kelowna.

The public and aviation enthusiasts will also have the chance to get up close to their Fire Suppression CL-215 Water Bombers on the apron at Kelowna International Airport.

The flight crew of Buffalo Airways Ltd. and the N.W.T. government's CL-215s are being hosted by the Kelowna and District Flying Club on Wednesday, from 5 to 8 p.m.

The public is invited to join club members for the dinner and meet and greet, which is a fundraiser for its June 6 COPA for Kids junior aviation event.

Admission is $15 for adults and includes a catered dinner – $8 for kids or $40 for a family. Admission only is $8 for adults and $5 for kids (10 and under).

More information and tickets are available at the club website.

The Kelowna and District Flying Club is located at 6135 Airport Way (Apron III).
