Kelowna RCMP have confirmed one person died in yesterday's crash on Highway 97 near Duck Lake, just north of the Kelowna Airport.
An SUV collided with a large truck Saturday afternoon, closing the highway for several hours and backing up traffic on Highway 97 and the alternate route, Glenmore Road. A woman was killed in the collision.
The front of the vehicle was destroyed, and debris, including the car's engine, lay strewn across the highway. The truck sustained heavy damage to the front end.
Police have not indicated what caused the crash.
