A small amount of oil and gas leaked into Okanagan Lake Saturday morning after a boat sank in the downtown marina overnight.
The Kelowna fire department says this is the fourteenth boat to sink in the marina this year.
The 30-foot power boat was in its slip at the marina when it began to take on water. The boat sank in about 40-feet of water and a 6-foot portion of the bow was above the surface.
Kelowna fire department put a containment boom and absorbent pads around the slick to try and stop it from spreading.
A salvage crew has been called to float the boat and take it out on a trailer.
The boat was a newer model, what caused it to sink is unknown.
