Suspects sought in violent robbery

A man walking alone early Saturday morning was assaulted and robbed before his assailants fled the scene.

On August 23 at 1:45 a.m., Kelowna RCMP received a report of a robbery near Rutland Middle School, located at 715 Rutland Road North.

“A 20-year-old Kelowna man was walking in the area near an access path to Richards Road when two men approached and engaged him in casual conversation,” explains Cst. Kris Clark. “The suspects suddenly punched the man repeatedly in the face causing him to fall to the ground. The suspects then fled the scene with the man's wallet, and several articles of clothing, most of which were recovered nearby.”

The man suffered non-life threatening injuries and did not require medical treatment.

Clark says the RCMP are now asking for public assistance in identifying the suspects in this brazen attack.

The suspects are both described as:

  • Caucasian males
  • 25-30 years
  • 6 ft (182 cm)
  • Medium build
  • One suspect was bald
  • Both wore dark clothing.
