Temporary entrance to KGH

A new, temporary main entrance will greet visitors and patients to Kelowna General Hospital this weekend.

Beginning Saturday and running through the end of October, the main entrance and roundabout driveway at the Centennial Building at KGH will be closed to all traffic and pedestrians.

The closure is necessary due to construction activity around the Interior Heart and Surgical Centre.

During this period, a temporary entrance will be located on the east side of the Centennial Building directly beneath the Pandosy Skywalk where a new set of double doors has been installed.

The closure is necessary to allow for construction of a front entrance to the IHSC that will be tied into the Centennial Building and to incorporate the turnaround and patient drop-off area with the new building.

Patient drop-off and pick-up will be accommodated on new driveways constructed at the temporary main entrance which can be accessed from Pandosy.

The emergency patient drop-off is not affected by this change.
