Downtown surprise cancelled

UPDATE 4:30 P.M.

Due to inclement weather, tonight's downtown event on Bernard Avenue has been cancelled. The event has been rescheduled for Thursday, Aug 28 at the same time.

Festivals Kelowna has a surprise planned for you tonight.

According to their Facebook Page, you're in for a big surprise if you happen to venture onto the newly renovated Bernard Avenue between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. tonight (Thursday).

"We wanted to do something that's unique tonight so we wanted to invite the people downtown," says program coordinator, Ryan Donn.

Tonight's event takes place along the entire revitalized portion of Bernard from City Park all the way up to Richter Street.

Festivals Kelowna organizers have been dropping little tidbits of information on their Facebook Page as to what people may be in store for.

"If you were to be at a street corner starting from the entrance to City park, along Bernard down to St.Paul, then at 7 you will experience this neat little "surprise". In fact, we encourage you to go to more than one street corner between 7 and 8," posted Executive Director, Renata Mills.

"Always a good idea to bring some change with you when you're coming downtown," posted Donn.

Festivals Kelowna sponsors four major events during the year, Parks Alive, Arts Alive, Canada Day and the Kelowna Buskers Program.
