Arrests in manhunt

RCMP have four people in custody in connection with a firearms incident in Vernon this morning.

Three of the people were arrested on Glenmore Road in Kelowna this afternoon, and a fourth person was arrested in Vernon.

Kelowna RCMP say they first located the suspect vehicle, a green Chevrolet Cavalier, near the intersection of Highway 97 and Mills Road shortly after 11 a.m.

About 45 minutes later the vehicle was again spotted by plainclothes officers in the 1000 block of Glenmore Road.

Through a coordinated effort involving the RCMP's Street Enforcement Team, General Duty officers, Air Services and Police Service Dogs, the suspects were taken into custody without incident.

Arrested were a 34-year-old Vernon man, a 23-year-old Surrey man and a 28-year old woman from Toronto.

All three were arrested for possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

They remain in custody.

The investigation continues.
