Snowbirds hit town

If you look to the skies over Kelowna today you may catch a glimpse of the Canadian Forces' Snowbirds.

The CT-114 Tutors Demonstration team began arriving in Kelowna today in advance of Wednesday's show over Okanagan Lake.

According to Public Affairs Officer, Cpt Thomas Edelson, the first two planes arrived earlier this morning with the remaining nine planes scheduled to touch down at Kelowna International Airport about 11:30 a.m.

Cpt Edelson says the team will do some fly-overs of the site during the day today.

Wednesday's show, sponsored by the Kelowna Rotary Club, is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. Wednesday.

The show is expected to last about 35 minutes.

The best vantage point is along the shoreline between Waterfront Park and City Park.

If you can't make it, make sure you are near a computer; Castanet will stream the entire performance live.

Send pics, video of the Snowbirds to [email protected].
