Vehicle jump leads to death

Update July 15

The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of the man as 23-year-old Victor John Francis Doyle of Kelowna.

He was a passenger in a vehicle on July 12, when he suddenly fell from the moving vehicle around 8:30 a.m. Doyle was rushed to Kelowna General Hospital, but died of his injuries that same day.

Update July 14

A 23-year-old Kelowna man has died after he apparently jumped from a moving vehicle Saturday morning.
Shortly after 8:30 a.m., Kelowna RCMP responded to a report of a traffic incident on Glenmore Road near Union Road. A 23-year-old Kelowna man was located roadside after he had apparently fallen from a moving vehicle in which he was a passenger. 

He suffered very serious injuries and was taken to hospital in critical condition. The man later succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation suggests the passenger unexpectedly jumped from the moving vehicle, resulting in his fatal injuries. His name has not been released..
Despite the 33-year-old driver being found to be unlicensed, he remained on scene and was cooperative with the investigation. He was issued a violation ticket for No Driver's Licence.
The Kelowna RCMP continue to assist the BC Coroners Service in the investigation.
