Fire crews were called to a stubborn fire at Style-Line Manufacturing in Kelowna Wednesday afternoon.
When firefighters arrived they discovered a fire billowing from the hopper behind the business at 3251 Sexsmith Road.
"On arrival crews found the hopper dust collectors within the building had flame and smoke," says Platoon Captain, Kelly Stephens.
"We quickly went to work and put some water on it and it seems to be under control."
Stephens says a second hopper connected to the first also had fire coming from it.
In essence, he says they had two similar but different fires going on at the same time.
Crews were working to extinguish any hot spots.
As for a cause, Stephens says that has not yet been determined.
"We'll get investigators here once we get a little further on but we need to get the fire completely extinguished. Right now we are just checking for hot spots," says Stephens.
"With this type of weather and also dealing with sawdust insulation, it can flare up pretty quickly. We just want to make sure it's 100 per cent out before we go any further."
The business was evacuated. Stephens says no one was injured.
