Man jumps off Bennett bridge
A man jumped off the Bennett bridge Sunday afternoon, apparently for fun.
Just before 4 p.m. RCMP asked for Kelowna Fire Department to assist with their boat to search for a man who had reportedly jumped from the middle of the span.
RCMP could not immediately confirm whether he was alright, but said they were manning both sides of the bridge to see if he would swim to shore.
After he jumped he apparently swam to shore on the Westside and left with two friends.
Beachgoers near the bridge said they noticed the police activity but hadn't seen the man jump.
More details to come.
