Sun blamed for accident

A two-vehicle crash in Glenmore Tuesday night is being blamed on a clear sky and a setting sun.

The incident happened around 7:30 p.m. at the corner of Glenmeadows Road and Glenburn Street.

According to Cst. Shufelt, the silver Jeep was traveling eastbound when it was struck by a grey SUV attempting to turn left onto Glenburn.

The angle of the sun is believed to have played a significant role in the accident, as it was just beginning to set behind the hills.

No one was seriously injured in the collision, but both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Alcohol and speed are not considered to be factors in the crash.

The intersection was closed for a short period of time while crews cleared the scene.
