Downtown shop party

It's Small Shop Saturday with a twist.

Downtown Kelowna will host its first night time version of the popular shopping event next Thursday evening, June 19.

It's billed as 'Small Shop at Night,' with participating businesses staying open until 9 p.m.

Sit in one of the 50 patios, do some shopping, sample free gelato or paint a wine glass as 100 businesses will remain open with special sales, demonstrations or discounts to encourage you to shop inside their stores.

Small Shop at Night will feature live music and entertainment from local artists throughout the downtown area and along with free parking after 2 p.m. at all street level and city owned lots and parkades.

You can also head a bit north of the downtown core for free wine tasting at the Laurel Packinghouse, a free sample of gelato at the Rotary Centre for the Arts and find the white tent on Bertram Street for a free handcrafted chocolate.
