Rescued man's canoe MIA

Last week Castanet told you about the high angle rescue of a man from a cliff near Westside Road after winds forced him to beach his canoe.

Larry Brown was the man who had to cling to a shrub before being rescued. Now Brown says he needs more help, his canoe is missing and he's asking if anyone has seen it.

Brown says he tied the canoe safely to the rocks near Trader's Cove before his climb. He had planned to go back for it when the weather had calmed down. When he went back, the canoe was gone.

The new canoe also had his fishing license in it, all of his fishing gear, two life jackets, two paddles and a soft cooler.

Brown is hoping that the canoe was not stolen, but recovered by someone who thought it had floated away from a dock and the person might be trying to track the owner down.

The canoe was a green Mackinaw Squareback Canoe with white seats.

If you have the canoe or know where it is please send your contact details to [email protected] and we will get you in touch with Larry.
