New wheels for the fire dept
Kelowna Fire Department has a new addition to their fleet of fire safety vehicles, but this one doesn't sport sirens or a hose.
Their colourful new 2014 VW Beetle vehicle will deliver daily messages about fire prevention to residents and students in Kelowna.
The donated vehicle is used for all public education activities, parades, fire safety house visits, and safety talks.
It was donated by Turner Volkswagen of Kelowna who named the car the 'Firebug.'
In a message on their Facebook page, Turner VW said "Once again Turner VW has proudly donated a new VW Beetle to the Kelowna Fire Department and the [City of Kelowna]. Turner VW is proud to sponsor this great organization."
