Stabbing - self inflicted

After examination, it was determined that the knife wound was self-inflicted in today's reported stabbing.

At one point eight cruisers were on scene for what turned out not to be a crime.

A middle-aged man is in hospital after being stabbed in Kelowna on Sunday afternoon.

At 2:20 p.m. Sunday, an emergency call went out for a man stabbed near the Greyhound station near the corner of Enterprise and Leckie.

The man went into the Greyhound station and awaited emergency crews.

So far there is no suspect and no arrests have been made.

Robin Nelson who works at Greyhound said he was in the driver's room when he heard sirens.

"One of em (police) talked to me right here, said somebody got stabbed, and there's a blood trail that goes down there," he said. "Guess that's what they're following right now."

RCMP on the scene said the victim appeared to be in his 40s or 50s. His wounds did not appear to be life threatening.

It's unknown whether the man was known to police and officers said the investigation is ongoing.
